Pantelis Benetatos
Pianist Pantelis Benetatos was born in Pireaus. He completed his theoretical and orchestration studies at Kostas Klavvas’ Conservatory in 1986. While completing his studies at Law School, he started playing the piano with several rock bands in the late ’70s.
Later on, he began playing professionally with many well known artists of the Greek music scene such as Haris Aleksiou, Giorgos Hatzinasios, Dimitra Galani, Giannis Parios, Manolis Lydakis, Alkistis Protopsalti and others.
Pantelis Benetatos has been a member of well known bands of the Greek jazz scene, especially the following ones: George Trantallidis Quintet, Mode Plagal, Takis Barberis Group and others.
In Greece he has performed in many festivals and music venues whereas he has collaborated with very well known musicians of the world jazz scene, such as with Ralph Peterson Jr, Bobby Watson, Chuck Berry, Trilok Gurtu, Jimmy Cobb and Miles Griffith.
