Manos Athanasiadis
Manos Athanasiadis was born in Athens. He started piano lessons at the age of 6 years old. He studied music theory (harmony, counterpoint and orchestration) with conductor and composer Y. Ioannidis and composition with composer E. Kokkoris and also attended courses of orchestra direction with F. Papadopoulos.
From 1993 to 1997 he studied at Philippos Nakas Conservatory with Takis Paterelis and had lessons on improvisation with Markos Alexiou. In 1999 he attended courses with the famous pianists Enrico Pierranunzi, Benny Green and also seminars on modern style compositions of the 20th century with Thodoros Antoniou. Since 1996 he works as a professor of jazz piano and classical harmony at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory.
His debut album ''Everybody swings'' with well-known jazz standards of his own arrangements was released in 2011.
